Tomorrow (Aug. 13) is McDonald’s $1 Day at the Zoo with $1 admission for adults and children from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Special activities are planned from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., including meet & greet time with Ronald McDonald, free inflatable bounces, $1 snack and drink specials, $1 face painting, a scavenger hunt for kids and strolling magic by the Fishin’ Magicians.
The annual Pancakes in the Park breakfast is Saturday, Aug. 27. Village Inn Restaurants will prepare pancakes and sausage in the zoo’s Bush Country Café from 7-10 a.m. Cost for breakfast is $5/adults and teens, $4/children ages 3-12. FOZ members receive a $1 discount on breakfast. Zoo admission will also be charged. There will be “early bird” discounted admission from 7-9 a.m. Then, from 11 a.m.-noon, we’re throwing a special hippo-sized birthday party for Henry the Hippo – he turns 30 this month! We’ll be feeding Henry watermelon at 11, 11:30 and noon, and serving watermelon slices to the public from 11 a.m.-noon. Pancakes in the Park is sponsored by Village Inn, STAR 92.9FM and Friends of the Zoo. Proceeds benefit zoo projects.

Fall ZEBRA Class Schedule Posted
The fall schedule of ZEBRA Classes is posted to the zoo’s website. These classes are for children ages 2 and 3 years old with an adult through students in the 7th grade. Classes often fill quickly, so register early.
New Pre-K Zoo Camp Scheduled for Fall
For parents of children ages 5 and 6, Dickerson Park Zoo’s education department is offering a Tuesday/Thursday afternoon zoo camp from Sept. 13-Dec. 22. Read all the details on the zoo’s website.
