Dear omss, It has been an extremely devasting week for all of us. The devastation caused by the tornadoes is overwhelming. Many lives have been impacted, both human and animal. We, at Second Chance Animal Shelter, were very lucky. Although we had a loss of power for about 10 hrs, our building was spared any damage and our dogs and cats are doing just fine. Thank you to all of you who emailed us asking about the welfare of the shelter and our animals. You are truly our family and we are forever thankful for your concerns, help and prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected by this horrific storm. The shelter is currently on stand-by as an emergency shelter for all of the affected communities. We are prepared to care for and temporarily house any cat or dog that needs assistance. If you know of anyone who needs such help, please have them contact the shelter. It is during times like these that draw us closer and cause us to reflect on the really important things in life. Second Chance is a family and this family is always here to help those who need us. Sincerely, Sheryl Blancato Second Chance Animal Shelter
