Twenty-two years ago, we rescued Zelda, the piglet. Pink and perfect, she became the first official Animal Place resident.
I soon discovered
how hard it is to run a sanctuary without help.
We cared for a growing population of farmed animals without assistance from others. Love does not feed animals, it does not heal them from sickness, and it does not house them against the cold.
But you do.
Maybe you have been a long-term supporter. Maybe this is your first time. You are joining an ever-growing family caring for neglected and needy farm animals.
Animals like Howie, who has lived at Animal Place since 1996, after he was rescued from a farm raising him for slaughter.
Because of your generosity, Howie's life was saved.

Now at the age of 15, Howie has slowed down, but his world has become mo
re enriched as we've grown, with your help!
In Howie's younger days, we could only take in a few permanent residents, but with your assistance, and our new adoption program Rescue Ranch, we can save thousands of lives each year!
You made that happen!
Please pledge your support today and ensure a brighter future for farmed animals!
With compassion for all life,

Kim Sturla, Executive Director
