The Beauty of a Vegan Garden
Last year, Greg Litus, resident horticulturist, started a very small test garden. This year, that garden expanded exponentially and produced a bounty harvest of tomatoes, corn, squash, eggplant, arugula, kale, and basil...all as vegan as it gets!
Almost all commercially produced produce is made with the use of animal products - it's almost impossible to find truly vegan fruits and veggies. Sounds strange, right? But the truth is manure, blood and bone meal, and fish meal are common additives to the soil producing your fruits and veggies.
We will eventually expand the garden to maximize its full potential. More importantly, in the coming years, we will be offering articles, classes and workshops teaching you how to garden without the use of animal inputs. You too can grow healthy, tasty food in a truly ethical manner! For now, enjoy a photo of some fruits and veggies from the garden in front of a healthy bunch of sunflowers! | | |
