Rock Out At Music in the Meadow

Chicken

Animal Place News                                Animal Place Website

September 2011

  Dear omss,
birds
Julianne and Jill doing chicken-y things
Last night, more than 200 chickens arrived from an egg farm. These 3-yr-old birds would have been slaughtered had it not been for our Rescue Ranch program...which would not exist without you!

Pat yourself on the back - since August of 2010 more than 2,300 animals have been saved from slaughter or euthanasia!

Did you know we are the only program in the country that takes in "spent" laying hens and confiscated farmed animals and rehomes them?

The truth is sanctuaries can only take in a small number of animals suffering in this world. Each rescue is a small victory against seemingly insurmountable odds.

With our Rescue Ranch program, we have exponentially increased our ability to save lives while also offering a unique way to educate people about farming, veganism, and compassion to other sentient beings.

Thanks for being a part of that.

Going Green At Music in the Meadow - Oct 8th!
In addition to great music, a cooking demo by Allison of Allison's Gourmet, speaker Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, and plenty animal friendly vendors, our Music in the Meadow event will also be eco-friendly!

For lunch (included in ticket price!) enjoy a reusable bag that folds and fits nicely in your purse for trips to the supermarket. Instead of plastic bottles or cups, folks are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottle. Don't have one? We'll be offering our brand-new stainless steel water bottles for only $15! Pick from one that says "Choose Compassion With Every Action" or "Peace * Love * Vegan"!

And we set up a carpool sharing so folks can carpool, which not only helps the planet but also our volunteer parking attendants!

We hope to see you, your chair/blanket, five of your friends, and an Animal Place water bottle in hand for our grand re-opening - Music in the Meadow, October 8th from 1-5 pm!
