Time to Shed that Winter Coat!

Sheep
Jerry (right) shows off his new haircut, while Roxanne waits her turn to be shorn.

Spring is finally here, so Jerry and Roxanne, our sheep, celebrated by shedding their woolly winter coats!

Using a pair of electric clippers, zoo keepers in the Indiana Family Farm sheared the sheep, taking care to deliver a close shave without nicking the skin.  When keepers were done, the sheep sported a cool summer haircut.

In the photo at right, Jerry shows off his new look, while Roxanne waits for her turn with the shears.  Keepers saved the wool so the barn attendants can share its fluffy, oily texture with you on your next visit.
