| Dear omss,  The 4th of July is filled with fun and excitement. For our pets, however, the noise and flare of fireworks sounds threatening and many dogs and cats panic when fireworks and loud noises erupt during the celebration. So, do your pet a favor by following these safety tips: - Don't take your dog to a fireworks display. It may be fun for you but can be frightening and confusing for your dog.
- Leave your pet at home in a sheltered, quiet place. Remove objects that could be harmful if chewed and leave on a TV or radio to help drown out the noise.
- Don't leave your pet outside or chained up. If they panic, the results could be devastating.
- Make sure your pet has ID tags. If they do get lost, chances are you will be reunited soon.
