Three New Babies for the Lemur Troop!

Lemur with Baby
Seiodin shows off her one-week-old baby.

The ring-tailed lemur troop experienced a baby boom last week with the addition of three little lemurs.  Caera gave birth to twin male babies and Seiodin delivered a single female baby on June 11 and 12, respectively.  Seiodin is Caera's mother, so she became a mom and a grandmother in the same weekend.

For now, the babies cling to their mothers most of the time, but within a few weeks, they will begin exploring their exhibits.  Since the troop now contains 10 lemurs, they've expanded into the exhibit next door, so be sure to check both exhibits for babies.

Visit often and watch them grow throughout the season!

Thank You, Kroger and Scott's

A huge than you to Kroger and Scott's for another successful Zoo Week!
Last week, representatives from Kroger and Scott's presented a check in the amount of $130,009.86 to Zoo Director Jim Anderson.  The amount represents money raised from May's Zoo Day events, when 3% of sales from May 18 and customer roundups from May 18-25 were earmarked for the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, as well as advertising support from Zoo Week promotions.

To date, Kroger and Scott's have donated more than $1.3 million in support of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.  Our thanks to Kroger, Scott's, their associates, and all who shopped during Zoo Week!
