Asian Ellie Elephant Open House

Wonder what a 10,000 pound animal eats every day? What does it take to give an elephant a pedicure? Join us to learn about elephant diets, care, training and more at Elephant Open House!

For one amazing morning only, the state-of-the-art elephant barn will be open for you to explore. Each stall will highlight a different aspect of elephant care. You'll meet the keepers who care for our herd, and learn insights about these majestic animals. Continental breakfast included. All proceeds go to elephant conservation!

Enrichment Day is Almost Here!

Saturday, September 24

9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

One of the best days at the Zoo to see all our animals at their most active! Come share in the fun our animals will have this day as they receive special toys, challenges, treats, and more! There will be activities, special keeper talks, enrichment demonstrations, booths, and activities all over Zoo grounds. CLICK HERE for the schedule.

Enrich yourself by learning more, playing games and making crafts at Enrichment Central. All activities are inspired by how we enrich our zoo animals.

Stop by the Reflection Pool area to visit with non-profit animal and wildlife organizations from around Houston. Enrichment Day activities included with Zoo admission. This event is FREE for Zoo Members. View 'Fun with Bones', an animal enrichment video, below.

It's Girl Scout Badge Day!

Saturday, October 1

9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Earn badges on this day filled with fun, animals and education.

From Daisies to Cadettes, there is something for everyone, including raffles! All workshops will include time out on grounds, and adults are encouraged to join the tours. And don't forget to get your very own Scout Badge Day patch!

Dynamo Ticket Deal: A Very Special Game

Houston Dynamo defender and Houston Zoo favorite Bobby Boswell is booting breast cancer again this year by raising money for The Methodist Cancer Center. The Dynamo are offering a $20 ticket package for their Breast Cancer Awareness game vs. the Chicago Fire.

This includes a game ticket, a pink Dynamo T-shirt, on-field participation in a human pink ribbon and meeting Bobby Boswell post-game! Tickets available now.

Dora and Diego Visit the Houston Zoo!

Saturday - Sunday, October 1- 2

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. each day

Well-loved Nickelodeon characters Dora and Diego are visiting the Houston Zoo! They will make appearances throughout the day and greet adoring fans, young and old, to pose for photos. Bring your camera to capture it all! Included in your regular Zoo Admission or membership. Click HERE for details!

Guests can also watch them in action in the exciting and interactive Dora and Diego's 4-D Adventure: Catch That Robot Butterfly! at the Zoo's 4-D Experience.

Enrichment Day is almost here and it really is one of the BEST days to visit the Zoo. Our Keepers give all of our animals their usual daily enrichment, but on this day, the enrichment is big, different, and special. You will get to see many of our animals at their most active, and have a great time making enrichment toys for your pets at home or playing games that enrich YOU!
